1921-22 Saskatoon - Moose Jaw Sheiks, Duke Dukowski original postcard
The Saskatoon Sheiks of the professional WCHL would be transferred to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan February 1, 1922 and would return to Saskatoon the following season renaming themselves the Saskatoon Crescents. The last name of Duke Dukowski was changed from it's original spelling of "Dutkowski" upon his request prior to his death. He was a member of the original expansion NHL Chicago Blackhawks of 1926-27. He played in the NHL from 1926 - 1934 with the Blackhawks, NY Americans and NY Rangers. The back of the postcard has a note " Laud on Saskatoon Team". This note would indicate they were likely acquainted with Dukowski as he was also known as "Laudes" Dutkowski according to the Society of International Research. This is the only known image of him with the WCHL Saskatoon - Moose Jaw Sheiks.
