Amazing original stand up cabinet photo of Duke Keats as a member of the 1922-23 WCHL Edmonton Eskimos.
This photo is all original to the period of 1922-23. The Edmonton Eskimos and playing coach, Duke Keats would travel to Vancouver B.C. to play the Ottawa Senators in the Stanley Cup Final losing a close fought two game total goal series. Duke Keats had a terrific career culminating in his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a player in 1958. An original member of the NHL Toronto Blue Shirts 1915-17 he would play for the Edmonton Eskimos of the WCHL/WHL/NWHL from 1921-26 and 1932-33 as well as the NHL Boston Bruins 1926-27, Detroit Cougars 1927-28 and Chicago Black Hawks 1928-29.
This photo is in mint condition in its original cabinet that folds out to create a self standing picture. The 7 X 9 3/4" photo is on heavy cream coloured photo paper stock. It is set in to a gat fold cabinet that opens up to create a stand. "Keats" is noted in pencil on the back of the cabinet.
This is an extremely rare original photo of this early Hall of Fame player.
