March 3, 1928 Chicago Blackhawks vs Ottawa Senators
All Original Program in Excellent condition.
This program features the original Stanley Cup on the cover. The historical significance is mesmerizing with the inclusion of such Hall of Famers as Chicago Goaltender, Chuck Gardiner in the starting lineup in his Rookie season. Goaltender, Hugh Lehman had played 4 games for the Blackhawks and then made his way to the front office as Manager of the team in mid season, leaving the goaltending duties to the upstart, Chuck Gardiner. The Ottawa Senators lineup included Hall of Fame players, Alex Connell (Goaltender), King Clancy, Frank Nighbor, Buck Boucher and Harry "Punch" Broadbent.
The program is composed of a fragile paper stock which has survived remarkably. NHL programs from this era are almost non existent let alone in this excellent condition. There is no writing or notable damage to speak of except for general wear to the edges and the tiny 2mm spot stain on the top edge.
