Allan Cup Finalists

The Calgary Stampeders franchise started competing in the Alberta Senior Hockey League the previous 1938-39 season, and by the following season the team were winners of the provincial Championship and reached the Final of the Allan Cup Championship, losing to the Kirkland Blue Devils.

The team was coached by long time Montreal Canadiens and Chicago Blackhawks star defensemen, Marty Burke from this 1939-30 season to 1941-42 and then returning to coach them from 1948-50. 

This photo is a rare original 8 X 10 image of the 1939-40 Allan Cup Finals team. It is in good condition with a small area of paper missing from the bottom right corner. Pinholes are visible in each corner. There is no damage or creasing in the main body of the image. The photo is shown in a frame for display purposes only and is not included in the sale.
