1939-40 MOOSE JAW MILLERS # 6 DUNC GRANT
SASKATCHEWAN SENIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS GAME WORN JERSEY
This jersey was worn by # 6 Dunc Grant of the SSHL Champion, Moose Jaw Millers, who boasted the likes of Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, Elmar Lach and future NHLers, Buster Brayshaw of the Chicago Black Hawks and Norman Larson of the New York Americans. This jersey has a 1939-40 team crest sewn onto the front where an original large circular “Moose Jaw Millers” crest formally resided. You can see the outline of the former crest clearly and matches up perfectly in position to those that are pictured in the team picture provided of the 1939-40 Moose Jaw Millers. The color sequence and striping on the arms and body also match up in style. Any assistance in acquiring an original jersey crest would be greatly appreciated. Dunc Grant was a member of the Allan Cup Champion, Calgary Stampeders of 1945-46 and let the team in scoring in that season and in the Allan Cup Championship. This is the only known example of a game worn jersey from this historic hockey club from Moose Jaw.
