1952-55 #1 Glenn Hall Rookie Game Worn Jersey
Photo Matched to both goaltenders
This is without a doubt the most significant game worn jersey in Detroit Red Wings goaltending history and potentially the most significant goalie jersey in NHL hockey history. It has been photo matched to 1950/51, 1951/52 Terry Sawchuk and 1952-54 Glenn Hall.
The jersey presents in all original condition with the original Lippman's tagging, original front crest and back #1. There are a total of 17 original team repairs. The jersey has retained it's brilliant red colour. Chest measures to 23", with evidence that the jersey was taken in on the left inseam from 24" to 23". The length is 27".
There is also photo graphic evidence of Terry Sawchuk wearing what is possibly this jersey in the 1957 training camp. The jersey was definitely kept with the team until it was taken home by a goaltender who attended Detroit Red Wings training camp in the 1960's.
Certainly the highlight of the Global Vintage Detroit Olympia collection.
