Original 1924-25 Western Canada Hockey League Contract - Copy

"Bullet" Joe Simpson - Edmonton Eskimos Hockey Club

This contract originated with the estate collection of Edmonton Eskimos Hockey Club Coach and General Manager, Ken MacKenzie. The contract was a "copy" that was compiled by Western Canada Hockey League President, E. L. Richardson. (please see the images of the original letters from E.L. Richardson to Ken MacKenzie stating that he is returning to him "copies" of the contracts - these letters are not included in the sale of this Joe Simpson contract).  

These "Copies" are all handwritten in fountain pen and completed on the stated date of the contract. These were not signed by the player. They were filled in by either E.L. Richardson himself or a secretary for office copy purposes then returned to GM Ken MacKenzie for his file.

This is an all original document from November 2, 1924. The paper shows some deterioration in the form of foxing and paper mold. 

Contained in the Exhibits section of my website is information and images on the Edmonton Eskimo Hockey Collection sourced from the estate of 1920's GM and Coach, Ken MacKenzie. Included in this collection are every contract copy for the Edmonton Eskimos 1922-23 Hockey Club. These were all done by the office of WCHL President E.L. Richardson as this 1924 Joe Simpson was also compiled. The same handwriting is present throughout.
